ZANETA MASCARENHAS MP
FEDERAL MEMBER FOR SWAN
LABOR COMMITS TO LIGHTING UP PEET PARK
Labor Member for Swan, Zaneta Mascarenhas today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will upgrade the lighting at Peet Park for night matches and evening training sessions.
This $700,000 election commitment will also improve safety for community members who use the park after hours.
Belmont Junior Football Club and Belmont Cricket Club are large, growing clubs and their facilities need to grow with them to accommodate current and future members.
Lighting upgrades will allow teams to train in the evening, enabling more kids to get active in Swan and play the sport they love.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to Labor Member for Swan, Zaneta Mascarenhas:
“The Belmont footy and cricket clubs are bursting at the seams, but better lighting will mean training sessions can be held into the evening to better accommodate their growing membership.
“These upgrades would also make night matches at Peet Park possible and will ensure it’s safer for dog walkers and other users.
“Only a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will upgrade the lighting at Peet Park.”
